Animal husbandry brings with it many challenges such as – nutrition, diseases, shelter management, sustainable farming, lack of resources, lack of suitable climate etc. The discipline puts to use various techniques and knowledge to find solutions to these problems.
In India, there exists different types of animal husbandry training programs. Based on the format of the course, these courses can be classified into the following types – Diploma course, Bachelor’s Degree course, Master’s Degree course, Doctoral Degree course etc.
AHDP is a diploma level animal husbandry course. Unlike Bachelor’s Degree programs, this course can be wrapped up within a short period of time. A Bachelor’s Degree course – like B.Sc. Animal Husbandry – is three years long. On the other hand, AHDP course is just two years long.
